Upgrading Malwarebytes E-Commerce System

The Client

Malwarebytes provides software designed to protect consumers and businesses against advanced threats that consistently escape detection by traditional antivirus solutions. They were founded on the belief that everyone has a fundamental right to a malware-free existence.

Comity helped us transform our sales and eCommerce platform so we could scale our operations alongside our growing business of protecting consumers and companies from advanced cyber attacks. Their expertise with Salesforce and Heroku provided a solid foundation for a solution that blended platforms and processes into a solution that is easy for our customers and employees to use and our engineers to manage.

The Challenges

Malwarebytes’ legacy system was struggling to meet the needs of its internal sales team and external customers. They sought an in-house, scalable, and cost-effective e-commerce solution to help them serve customers and grow their business with key business insights made available through consolidated reporting.

The Solution

Malwarebytes selected Comity based on the firm’s expertise with developing custom applications on Salesforce and Heroku. Comity streamlined the Malwarebytes e-commerce solution into one in-house system that included a single shopping cart page and a robust cloud-based portal that reduced the cost of an increasing volume of sales and renewals. The solution included Heroku, Ruby on Rails, Angular JS, Zuora, and Salesforce Sales Cloud.

The Results

Comity delivered a cost-effective e-commerce solution on Heroku that easily scales with Malwarebytes’ growing business model. Using Sales Cloud and Heroku Connect, customer and subscription data is always synchronized and easy to view and change. The cloud-based e-commerce platform can now support new products and has the flexibility to support specific marketing campaign content, all from one place.
